Which Apocalypse do you foresee?

Me? A zombie apocalypse, you guys might think I play too much L4D, but it's either that or an epidemic... and epidemic that will make us zombies!!! XD

I see a zombie apocalypse as well.. or is it? Or am I playing too much L4D and Plants vs. Zombies? Nah.. it'll be a zombie apocalypse!

I say epidemic

sure there are lots of studies being done to find cures and medicines but these advances could lead into virus mutation enabling a new illness to be spread.

...and another thing, it's much much closer to reality

never seen aliens and zombies, and robots need much more than the current technology for an apocalypse

Natural Disaster a massive earthquake that would rip everything apart or maybe a polar shift would be interesting

It's not going to be zombies (coz we don't know the secret to resurrection, and what kind of resurrection is zombification?!?).

It's not going to be robots because we CAN'T even make robots think like us. We don't have the knowledge to make robots feel or think "logically" or "philosophically". They're probably going to die by our weapons anyway.

Aliens... hmm... I thought we were the only intelligent life form with a body? God and his angels are spirits... Aliens should be smart enough to make a ship that can fly to Earth and not get burned in the atmosphere. Apparently, we haven't found any. And if there were, why would they want to kill us? I thought they were smart. If you might say that they will kill us with a super laser cannon or whatnot, they should be smart enough to even make that cannon.

A disease that will kill the human population is crazy... Maybe a nerve agent gone wrong? But nature isn't going to let that happen. If it were to happen that way, then we would have been dead a long time ago. After all, the Earth is the planet of humans (in other words, it is rightfully ours), and it should not eliminate us. Nerve agents that would kill the whole of humanity must be able to mutate so that it would not dissipate in the air and would instead travel from one continent to another, killing people along the way. But, there isn't a nerve agent like that because nerve agents are designed to dissipate. After all, how do you rule over a land that does not have subjects? How do you rule a land that is inhabitable in the first place?

For natural disasters, look at the previous paragraph. Or here's my answer in short: The Earth is rightfully the planet of the humans. We were put in charge of it. It won't kill us.

Instead, I see that we will fall by our own folly. Nations will... destroy each other. Read the Bible for more info.

What if there really are aliens and they themselves are looking for other life forms, i.e us humans? We (or at least some of us) think there really are aliens out there, but ask those at NASA if they want to destroy whatever life form they find beyond. Those aliens might as well be peace-loving creatures as we are Otherwise... (refer to underlined).

I'm letting my imagination fly, and a zombie apocalypse would result in either making the living like the dead or the dead like the living.

If the dead would be like the living, it's like playing God. You know, trying to resurrect someone, but not completely. Why would people want to do this? For power because they can make an army of undead that will just keep coming because it can't die? First of all, where are they going to store the undead? Then how tough is rotten tissue (besides, rotten and dead tissue is already really rigid, meaning the zombies would simply be a pile of hard tissue... you might say it will make them really tough, but they can't move either because their joints are also rigid)? Can it really withstand a nuclear explosion? (Go play Resident Evil Outbreak )

How about making the living like the dead? There's less reason to actually do this. I mean, why would you zombify healthy people? If you could make a fountain of life instead, you'll earn untold fortunes. But sadly, from my argument above, if you "accidentally" make a dead like the living (actually half-living), then no one would want to pay you. All the more reason for you to make an army of zombies for world domination.

But what would you do with the whole world? If you have an army of zombies, that's going to be your leverage, but how will you rule the world with its population full of zombies? You're going to make the living population cower in fear from the zombies? Besides, would they really listen to you?

Anyway, what if it was a chemical agent instead to do the work? Maybe it was disguised as something that can "give life" to the body. Like it will make your body light as a feather because it energizes the muscles, blah blah blah... But exactly how does this make people zombies? Some side effect?

I see that the only way for this to happen is that the chemical would implant a desire in our minds to infect more people. I mean, if you take a look at those other zombies, they're pale. That means there isn't much (if there even is) blood in them. We shouldn't have Resident Evil zombies. Come on, who gets killed by slow-moving zombies? I'm guessing we'd have Left 4 Dead zombies, but they're actually "alive" but with a desire to infect others. It should be getting the living like the dead because if there's no blood, then there's no mental function or even physical function. I mean, how do you get the blood flowing again in someone who's already dead?

After all, there are pills that can change how we think (make us feel better, etc), but maybe having a pill that would make us "younger" but zombify us is too much. I thought they would clinically prove that it's okay for us to use?

Oh yeah, a chemical agent is used for killing, not for zombifying people.
